Tiffany Begley"This fall I interned with third-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program, Annie Steele, at the University of Texas. Annie was not only attentive and accommodating to my needs during the internship but was also a perfect match for me. My one-on-one meetings with Annie proved to be quite valuable in the information she gave me about applying to grad school and other options in case of rejection. One benefit in working with Annie is that we are very close to the same age-only a few months apart. Because I am an adult student and am typically working with others who are much younger than I am and who do not have a lot of the same issues or worries that I do, I sometimes feel as if I'm all alone in the process. Interning with Annie allowed me access to someone who understands the feelings and worries of a woman my age and gave me insight to how she maintains a balance with those feelings and her graduate education.

"This experience has had many benefits and I am happy to have been a part of it. The IE Internship is a good program for students applying to graduate school because it gives access to an individual currently going through a program. I would recommend this to any graduating senior thinking about graduate education and encourage the McNair program at St. Edward's to continue partnering with UT to bring this program to the McNair scholars."
