Clinical Neuroendocrinology Graduate Student Ellie Shuo Jin
"One of the most valuable experiences of my graduate studies is my role as a mentor through the Intellectual Entrepreneurship Pre-Graduate School Internship. For me, mentorship is a joint adventure between the mentor and the mentee in exploring uncharted territories. We work closely together to troubleshoot issues that arise as a part of the journey and arrive at our destination with a vast assortment of knowledge on board. My involvement in the program has been incredibly rewarding. My mentees and I meet weekly to discuss the graduate school application process and brainstorm for research ideas along the way. Often, my mentees become directly involved in the laboratory and participate in the data collection process on an existing or new project that we design together. Mostly recently, two of my mentees presented our collaborative research at national undergraduate conferences."
