Physical Anthropology Graduate Student Matthew Kilberger
The Intellectual Entrepreneurship (IE) Program has allowed Kate Patton to gain experience in research methodology. She got to work on actual data first hand. She assisted in data entry, organization, and analysis. In addition, we read and discussed journal articles related to both of our research interests.
Importantly, the program has helped me gain experience mentoring a student with a similar goal as mine: to become university professors. I tried to lead her in the right direction towards research in her interest as well as pointing her to the best fitting graduate programs. With the financial assistance from the IE program, we are attending the American Association of Physical Anthropologists' conference in March 2007. It is very important to attend conferences as students in our discipline. I intend to continue to participate in the program next semester.
