Law Pre-Grad Intern Joseph Gallardo
As the first person in my family to attend a university, I've always said that I want to set a high standard for generations to come. I was once falling into the mediocre tradition my family was used to. I graduated number 428 out of 429 in my high school and it took me six years to graduate. Grad school never even seemed like a realistic possibility for me.
To say the Intellectual Entrepreneurship internship was an amazing experience for me would be such an understatement. I came across this opportunity at such an ideal time in my life. I've always been very interested in pursuing Law, but not everyone agrees; the Intellectual Entrepreneurship program provided enough insight for me to know that, despite the opinions of others, Law is in fact what I want to do and there are no doubts about it.
Looking back at where I was before IE, I was completely clueless on the route I wanted to take after graduation. Pursuing law school was simply one possibility out of many. Now, after being blessed enough to participate in the IE Pre-Grad Internship, I know exactly what I want to do and why I want to do it; I have absolutely no doubts about Law School. The IE Pre-Grad Internship has not only made me a more knowledgeable and organized student, it's made me a better person. I know that all of the opportunities coming my way right now from my LSAT course, the internship with the Capitol, Teach for America, and the possibility of working in Washington D.C. this summer, would not be possible had I not chosen to participate in the IE program. I am so grateful to The University of Texas at Austin for all of the resources we are provided. I've learned that all of the resources are there, the university really does provide everything you need to succeed; you just have to go out and get it. The IE Pre-Grad Internship is proof of this and I'm forever grateful for the opportunity and the learning experience it has provided me."
